Martin Kilvády was born in 1974 in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, where he graduated from high school. Subsequently, he enrolled in a program for teacher education in modern dance at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Bratislava, where he received his “Master of Arts”. Choreographers and teachers who most influenced his further development as a dancer are Jan Ďurovčík and Libor Vaculík. From 1992 to 1996, he was a member of the Torzo Ballet Company and performed as a freelancer in several productions of the Opera/Ballet Bratislava Slovakia.
During the summer of 1997 he became a member of Anna Teresa de Keersmaeker‘s Rosas dance company in Brussels. He danced in numerous performances: Would, in the reprise of Mikrocosmos and Achterland, contributed to the creation of Just Before, Drumming, I Said, and In Real Time. During these years with ROSAS, the teachings of David Zambrano and Chrysa Parkinson widened his dance horizons.
Between 2001 and 2004, he collaborated with the choreographer Roberto Olivan in the creation of Natural Strange Days and De Farra.
In the seasons 2002–2004, he worked with circus company Rital Brocante.
Since 2003, he has been a member of Thomas Hauert’s company ZOO, performing in Five, Modify, More Less Said Songs, Walking Oscar, Puzzled and Accords.
Martin Kilvady is co-founder of Les SlovaKs Dance Collective. They created Opening Night , Journey Home and Fragments.
Martin has been involved in more than 30 original creations and performed throughout all the continents of the world. He is guiding an ongoing movement research and has been teaching for more than 25 years.

The aim of the choreography is to showcase the work of a craftsman, his skill and expertise, his aesthetic and poetic views, the dance moves that he got fond of during the years of studio and stage experience. Martin´s style is presented on stage in its purest form, without set, just dance par excellence.
The solo consists of two parts. Two thirds of the first part is performed in silence. The second part is accompanied by a piano ballad and vocals and is marked by emotions.
The twenty minutes long experience has a homogenous, quiet character. The body of the dancer acts out a range of muscle tensions and releases. The variety of dance inspirations becomes a homogenous entity in the body and the soul of the dancer – composer.
